Exhibition Statement:

“In a dream you found a way to survive and were full of joy.” – Jenny Holzer, Survival Series, 1981-85, 1991

Dreaming through playful making is a search for delight in anxious times and momentary nows. Inspired by Ross Gay’s The Book of Delights: Essays, my work considers what it means to dig through what remains, such as donated quilt tops, clothing, canvases, tents, and parachutes. Through this process I improvise new stories, discovering softness, survival, and abundant possibilities.
